This is the Privacy Policy of Universal Horse Data B.V (hereinafter: “UHD” or “we”). This policy explains how UHD deals with personal data that are obtained via our Platform. UHD respects the privacy of its users and business relations and ensures that any personal information it receives will be protected and treated confidentially.

This Privacy Policy is part of our Terms of Use. All capitalized terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meaning as in our Terms of Use. So please make sure that you have read and understand our Terms of Use.

COLLECTION OF PERSONAL DATA

Creating an account and profile information

If you create a UHD account, you will provide us with certain information that can be used to identify you, such as:

  1. First name and last name
  2. E-mail address
  3. Profile picture

You can either use your real name or a pseudonym as your user name. Your name, username and profile picture are listed publicly on UHD.

Your Content and Templates

We collect the Content that you upload and share on our Platform, such as the pictures and Templates you share and promote as well as the metadata provided with the information you share, such as creation time, language, country and time zone.

USE OF PERSONAL DATA

Our Platform is designed to help you share information with the equestrian world. The above mentioned personal information is used to make this possible and to improve our Platform.

UHD may analyze your information for trends and other insights. This statistical information may be shared with or sold to third parties. This information cannot be traced back to individual persons.

Most Content you submit, post or display through our Platform is public by default and will be able to be viewed by other users. For certain information fields we provide you with visibility settings, so you will be able to select who can see this information.

COOKIES

To make your use of our Platform more smooth, convenient and more efficient and safe, we use so-called cookies collecting additional information including website usage data. A cookie is a small text file that is placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website.

All the cookie-related information is not used to identify you personally and is not used for any purpose other than those described below.

Functional cookies

Mainly in order to improve your visit to our Platform, we use cookies to remember your preferred settings and previously entered information (e.g. your login user name or location), so you don’t have to keep re-entering them whenever you come back to the Platform or browse from one page to another. Information disclosed for our protection and the protection of others

We may cooperate with government and law enforcement officials or private parties to enforce and comply with applicable laws and regulations. We may disclose any information about you to government or law enforcement officials or private parties as we, in our sole discretion, believe necessary or appropriate: (i) to respond to claims, legal process (including subpoenas); (ii) to protect our (intellectual) property, rights and safety and the property, rights and safety of a third party or the public in general; and (iii) to stop any activity that we consider illegal, unethical or legally actionable activity.

Information disclosed in connection with business transfers

Information that we collect from our users, including personal information, is considered to be a business asset. In the event that UHD is involved in a bankruptcy, merger, acquisition, reorganization or sale of assets or if our assets are acquired by a third party in the event we go out of business or enter bankruptcy, some or all of our assets, including your personal information, may be sold or transferred to a third party as part of that transaction. Your privacy will remain insured.

LINKS TO OTHER WEBSITES AND SERVICES

Our Platform may contain links to websites and services that are owned or operated by third parties. Any information that you provide on or to third parties or that is collected by other third parties is no longer subject to our privacy policy. We are not responsible and liable for the Content, privacy or security practices and policies of any such third party service.

In order to protect your information we recommend that you carefully review the privacy policies of all the websites and third party services you access.

INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFER

Your personal information may be transferred to, and maintained on, computers located outside of your country or other governmental jurisdiction where the privacy laws may not be as protective as those in your own jurisdiction. If you are located outside the European Union and choose to provide your personal information to us, we may transfer your personal information to other countries and process it there provided that mandatory laws do not prohibit such transfer. We will always endeavor to comply with the rules governing such transfer.

ACCESSING, MODIFYING AND REMOVING PERSONAL INFORMATION

Under applicable laws you may have the right to request an overview of the personal information we have registered about you. You may also have the right to request amendment of incorrect personal information or the removal of your personal information.

If you are a registered user of our Platform, we may provide you with tools and account settings to access or modify your personal information associated with your account, such as your profile picture, username and biography. If the functionality for modifying your account is not available you can contact us via our contact form. You can also permanently delete your UHD account or request that we delete your personal information, by contacting us at the contact form mentioned above.

When you request an overview of your personal information or request us to modify or delete your personal information we may ask you to provide us with a copy of a valid form of identification in order to avoid abuse. However, we kindly ask you to make your citizen service number illegible.

We will respond to any appropriate request within the time period specified by law.

RETENTION PERIOD

We will retain your personal information for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

SECURITY MEASURES

We take reasonable administrative, physical and electronic measures designed to protect the information that we collect from or about you (including your personal information) from unauthorized access, use or disclosure.

Please be aware that the security of your personal information also depends on the protection of your account. Do not disclose your website login credentials to unauthorized people. Also, be sure to sign off when finished using a shared computer.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

Any information that is collected via our Platform is covered by this Privacy Policy. We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make a change to this Privacy Policy that, in our sole discretion, is material, we will try to notify you of those changes by posting them on our Platform and/or by sending you an email to the email address associated with your account and we will update the “Last Updated Date” above to indicate when those changes will become effective. By continuing to access or use our Platform after those changes become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised Privacy Policy.
